Reconstructive surgery for disfigured war veterans.
Raleigh, NC - Dr. Glenn M. Davis, M.D., F.A.C.S. of Davis Plastic Surgery, PLLC, has been selected to provide reconstructive surgery to local war heroes through the Iraq Star Foundation.
Iraq Star is a non-profit group dedicated to providing reconstructive surgery to active duty soldiers and veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Foundation works with the Veteran's Administration and private services offered by over 200 Board Certified surgeons in 42 states. "Our soldiers dedicate their lives to protecting our rights and freedoms," says Davis. "The VA provides care to get these men and women back to a functional status. Unfortunately, in many cases their injuries are disfiguring and require longer-term reconstructive surgeries; this is especially true of facial injuries. We work to obtain the best end result and build back the confidence of our wounded veterans. I am proud to be associated with Iraq Star and to help give our wounded heroes back their lives."
Iraq Star coordinates treatment through its group of volunteer doctors and pays for the soldier's transportation, hotel accommodations, meals, and the hospital and medicine costs. Wounded veterans and their families can sign up for services on the Iraq Star website (http://iraqstar.org/). Iraq Star, Inc. is financed through public donations and is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation.

Davis, M.D., F.A.C.S., has been certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1986 and was voted one of the Best Doctors in America for 2009-2010.
